On choices and what to make of our situation....
I've been struck by an incredible mood of late, and I'm pretty sure it has to do with the weather change. Deep in ponderance the other night, I realized that we can either choose life or misery. The choice is always ours, but our decision will dictate our mood, our relationships, our success, our happiness, our creativeness and productiveness. It's kind of like karma, only... self-karma. If we're good to ourselves, we'll feel good about ourselves. Health, well being... for so long I've felt like I was being selfish if I did anything for myself. Now I know that I cannot keep giving to others if I don't make sure that giving is coming from a stable foundation. Some day soon, there is going to be nothing left to give, and not only will I be unable to help people, I'll be unable to help myself as well.
So, on this beautiful morning leading into another wonderful sunny day, I ask you to choose life.
I'm pretty sure that the Dali Lama has it right when he says that our purpose in life is to find happiness, 'cause truly, what else can we do?
